For the third year in a row, Velites is proud to announce that we’ll be heading to the French Throwdown in Paris. As one of the of most highly-anticipated CrossFit events in Europe, the French Throwdown is a great place to see some of the best athletes in the game today, and to spot tomorrow’s most promising new talent.
This year marks the sixth annual French Throwdown, and the competition is even bigger and better than ever. The Velites crew will be there to let you try out the incredible Vrope Fire 2.0, alongside Rogue, Reebok and lots of other top brands. It’s going to be an awesome couple of days, and we hope that you can join us.
Who should you be looking out for?
The beauty of the French Throwdown, is that it attracts some of the most promising break-out talent in Europe, so really, anything could happen once we get into the swing of things. Expect to see exceptional talent nobody has ever seen before, as well as Regionals athletes past and present. There are men’s and women’s divisions, as well as masters, teams and a scaled competition — a real European community event.
The 2017 French Throwdown: 16-18 June, 2017, Paris, France.
Will Kane
We missed Will Kane a Regionals this year, but this top British athlete has been on the podium at major events throughout 2015 and 2016, including the massively competitive Super Team Cup.
Georges Willy
Georges Willy was one of our picks to watch at the 2016 French Throwdown, and he’s competing again this year, so you better believe we’ll have an eye on him. As one of the biggest, strongest athletes in the competition, we’re sure you’ll see Willy put up some big lifts.
Roberto Molina
When you can cycle a 50 kg hang power snatch like this guy can, a lot of things become much easier. We’re supporting Spain’s Roberto Molina at the French Throwdown with some of our best equipment, to help him smash each and every WOD. Keep an eye out for this guy.
Javier González Fernández
Gonzalez Fernandez was on our list last year as a newcomer, and we’re so pleased to see this awesome Spanish athlete back in the competition. We wish him the best of luck, and encourage you to keep an eye out.
Stephane Ossanga
Training out of France, Ossanga is worth going to see just for his outrageous physique. On top of that, he’s an incredible athlete, and we’re super proud to be sponsoring him this year at the French Throwdown.
Jessica Vetter
Velites Sport are proud to be sponsoring Jessica again this year. Jessica trains out of Reebok CrossFit Louvre, and has been putting in some solid work throughout 2016 and 2017. She’ll be going into the women’s competition with thoughts of first place, and we’ll be with her all the way.
Lisa Eble
A competitor at both the German Throwdown and The Athlete Games, Eble is experienced at high level competition. We were watching Eble last year, and we’re pleased to see her in competition again this year.
Chiara Rota
Italian Chiara Rota joins Velites as our newest sponsored athlete, and we’re so impressed with how well she’s doing, and how strong she looks going into the Throwdown. Check out the video for an easy 95 kg split jerk.
Discounts for Velites fans
During the French Throwdown weekend (18-19 June) Velites Sport will be offering a 15% discount on all purchases online ( CODE: FRENCH17 ), and a 15% discount on all purchases made at the event.
Good luck to everyone competing, and a special shout out to our sponsored athletes, Roberto Molina, Stephane Ossanga, Jessica Vetter and Chiara Rota.
